Looking for a Perfectly Unique Location for your Boulder Maternity Photography?
Awesome locations for Boulder maternity photography extend farther than those iconic flatirons. Don’t get me wrong, I love the flatirons. They are so uniquely Boulder. But Boulder definitely offers more than that. So if you’re looking for something else, I encourage you to not discount Boulder just because you’re not into the flatirons.
I’m all about finding the unique locations that no other photographers frequent. I think it adds something to your maternity photography. It makes it stand out. And as someone devoted to capturing the beauty of your pregnancy amidst Colorado’s wilderness, I think it’s important that I be familiar and able to incorporate all of that wilderness, mountains or not.
Venturing into areas not known by other maternity photographers brought me to a wetlands location in North Boulder. Walking the area, you’ll find a lot of photographers there. They just aren’t portrait photographers. This area is known for its birds and wildlife. So you’ll see quite a few cameras with long lenses on tripods, waiting patiently for a bird to do just that right thing. But portrait photographers are few and far between.
Why this Location Shines for Maternity Photography in Boulder
Texture
There is tons of it here. Between the cattails in the water to the towering cottonwood trees, texture is everywhere at this location. What that means from a visual standpoint is that your photographs will have dimension and interest. People will want to lose themselves in the intricacies of your maternity photography.
Texture also means that it will pair well with pretty much any type of maternity dress. If the dress has texture, it will complement well with the surroundings. If it is smooth, it will help you to stand out.
Variety
My #1 priority when scouting photography locations is variety. I take a lot of photos during your session. If we don’t have a variety of backdrops, all your photos will look the same. And what’s the fun in that? Something I love about this location is that within a few minutes walk, the scenery completely changes. You go from a boardwalk in the cattails to a lake with mountains and a setting sun on the horizon.
Why this Location Might Be For You
Besides just falling in love with the photos, I recommend this location for you if you want to incorporate the tranquility of water into your session. You want wildflowers with amazing textures. And if you have a toddler or little kid joining. They will be easier to wrangle in a maze of tightly confined walkways. I especially recommend this location for anyone that wants black and white photos, because texture is the perfect backdrop for black and white.
